Some recommendations for Cozumel

Grilled chicken. Half a chicken is likely plenty for 2. Sinaloa style, wood-fired. Comes with tortillas, rice, salsa, onions. Closes when they run out (can be early).

Nice upscale, modern take on Mexican food. Mediterranean-inspired with fresh local ingredients in a beautifully restored 1940s house.

Nice craft beers (Cozumel’s first microbrewery), interesting take on a Mexican pizza, sometimes have lionfish ceviche. Wood-fired oven.

Good brunch spot. Great coffee, waffles, eggs benedict, and all-day breakfast menu. Cozy cafe vibes.

Pretty good italian food. Also appears to sell bags of specialty coffee (but I haven’t tried it)

Good craft beer (smaller than Punta Sur), great guacamole with bacon & pineapple, great al pastor tacos. Smallest brewery on the island with rotating taps.

Kinda far away, but easy if you have a scooter. Good seafood. Family-owned since the 70s, known for lobster. Near the Westin in Zona Hotelera Norte.

Good all around Mexican joint. Classic cantina vibe, bone marrow tacos, tlayudas, and great margaritas. Opens at 4pm, closed Mondays.

More traditional restaurant, a bit more upscale. Mediterranean-inspired with excellent seafood, garden patio dining, great wine list.

Great quesabirrias. Also has birria tacos, ramen, pambazos. Huge portions, affordable prices.

One of the spots in the mercado municipal. I had a cochinita pibil torta and it was great.

Nice low key taqueria. Great pozole, al pastor tacos, affordable authentic Mexican food. Cash only.

Decent bakery with fresh pastries, bread, and good coffee. They have a couple of locations now.

Steaks & burgers. One of the best steaks you’ll have - small, charming spot with great atmosphere.

Oaxacan food - various moles, tlayudas, memelas. Authentic regional cuisine with mezcal selection.
